It's no secrete that I've had a ton a bad luck with 360(s). That said, I've spent a crap load of time trouble shooting problems with those clowns and I can honestly say that I have never met one that knew what he/she was doing. Hell, most of them don't even own a 360! They're just reading off some step-by-step Microsoft trouble shooting guide. There was one exception in where I was asked to us a paper clip to try and open a stuck DVD drive. I told the guy that he was out of his freaking mind and refused to do it. In fact, eventually it got to the point where I refused to trouble shoot anything. I'm sure it was obvious by looking at whatever records they have access too that I had already jumped through their hoops several times, so they just said ok...we'll send you another shipping box.
