I've never been a huge fan of Rainbow. In fact, with the possible exceptions of "Far Cry" & "Blazing Angels"...I don't really like anything that Ubisoft puts out. Why?
- Because the controls are cumbersome. Switching to your pistol for example is a joke. The same is true for grenades.
- There's no maylee.
- You can't lay down.
- The shots guns are ridiculously over powered.
Something else I've noticed is when the action gets hot and heavy...the frame rate takes a dump and game plays becomes choppy.
At any rate, this one is better then the first...but it's more like Version 1.5 then 2.0 IMO. I also think it's about time the programmers at Ubisoft purchased a copy of "COD4" to see how a well designed shooter functions.
That said, "my" perfect Rainbow Six/Ghost Recon would use the COD4 engine. To that I'd add the face scanning, which I think Ubisoft does a great job with. I'd also set it someplace other then Vegas...been there, done that! Maybe a big city like New York next time?
That's my 2 cents.
