Microsuck says no free maps!

The new COD4 maps were supposed to be free as a thanks to gamers for buying the title and making it game of the year. Even surpassing Halo 3 online. Too bad Microsoft sucks though, because next weeks pack will cost $10!

You should care. The developer wanted it to be free and you have to pay for it. Not a good future for DLC.

It's all on a MS platformed console. Are you surprised that they want their slice of the pie? I'm not. Besides, if I were playing that game regularly I'd be happy to pay for them just to get something new. I've done it more than once (paid for DLC) on Forza and I don't see any threads about that.

It's just that I listen to video game podcasts and I've heard interviews with the developers saying how they were so excited that they were going to be offering this map pack for free and low and behold Microsoft fucks that shit up. It's not cool, if the developer wants to put out free content they should be able to without being muscled around by M$ and their desperate need to profit anyway they can.

Free maps are not new. The original xbox offered free maps on games like Recon and RB6. How quickly we forget. I guess M$ did their home work correctly, people will pay for everything.
