Default Wheel Coffin coming

Last week my wheel quit working. I plugged the battery pack in and it works that way w/o forced feedback. FF is what makes the wheel so awesome. Without it it's junk. Anyway, I was browsing through the Xbox.com support section and the say they'll "retrofit" my wheel and have it back in 3-4 weeks. The sku numbers for the affected wheels are posted there and mine is one of them. Anyone else have a similar problem? The green power light on the front of the wheel does not illuminate and the whhel is dead using AC power.

Not me, but I did have one that constantly pulled right. I couldn't fix it, so I ended up buying a new one.

Hmm, I wonder if it's the port on the wheel, or the power unit. Are you having to send the AC Unit in with the wheel, or just the wheel?

They already sent me the power converter box the power cord plugs into. Did not fix the problem. I understand that the entire wheel must be sent back for a retrofit.

Yep, that's true. When M$ first announced the power supply problems, I filled out the paperwork with the hopes of them sending me a brand new wheel...but they sent me a big box instead. Unfortunately with the mods I've done to my wheel, sending it back was not an option.

I had a rather interesting experience with my wheel repair. After two or three phone calls from Microsoft to get my serial number and tell me to be patient, that my coffin was coming, I finally got a coffin. It had directions for returning it, but no return shipment label. When I called to ask for a return label, I was told by the clueless customer support person that I was supposed to ship it myself in my own box; when I explained that I had a box and needed a label, he got a supervisor, who promised to send a new box.

Some time later, I got a box, with a replacement wheel enclosed. (Note that, at this time, I had not received a shipment label for the old wheel, so I still had that.) The replacement wheel box did not include any instructions or label for returning my old one.

A week later, I got a coffin with return label for my old wheel, which I sent back.

And a while later, I got a replacement again.

Unfortunately, the pedals aren't involved in the shipment, because now I have two wheels and one set of pedals.

HaHaHa...that's typical Microsoft! During all the problems I had with my 360, they sent me an extra one. I kept it boxed up for a couple of months thinking M$ would catch their mistake and want it back, but that never happened...so I give it to a good friend. He in-turn spent a bunch of money on controllers and a power supply, but unfortunately the 360 took a dump about a week or two later.
Why aren't you signed up for our Tuesday race series Cyber?

Er, because I don't have Forza?
