R1 Race Series Rules, Schedule and Results
Race Day: Saturday
Race Time: 5:30pm pacific, 6:30pm mountain, 7:30pm central, 8:30pm eastern.
Schedule:
Race 1: April 19, Maple Valley, 25 laps
Race 2: April 26, Silverstone Gran Prix, 25 laps
Race 3: May 3, Sunset Infield, 25 laps
Race 4: May 10, Mugello, 25 laps
Race 5: May 17, Road Atlanta, 25 laps
May 24 is Memorial day weekend, no race.
Race 6: May 31, Road America, 25 laps
Race 7: June 7, Motegi, 25 laps
Race 8: June 14, Suzuka, 25 laps
Note: Race 8 on may be bumped back a week depending on if anyone has plans for Fathers day weekend who is involved in the series.
Race 9: June 21, Sebring, 25 laps
Race 10: June 28, Nuburgring, 5-7 laps, to be decided.
Rules:
1. No make up races. If you get abducted by aliens, then oh well, race the following week when they bring you back.
2. No restarts. We all have those races where we have a bad start, no reason to penalize those who had a good start.
3. If you lose connection in a race, then you will get the last place of those still racing points. Example, if you are in 2nd place and lose your connection and there are 8 ppl racing, then you will be awarded points for 8th place. My connection isn't the greatest either.
Note: IF host loses or more than 2 racers (3 0r more) lose connection during any given race, then the race will be restarted or rescheduled.
4. Races will start on time. Only one exception to this. If you can give 24 hours notice that you will be no later than 15 minutes late, then we can wait. Otherwise we will have everyone else waiting for one and some of us don't have a lot of time to burn.
5.If more than 8 people show up, then we will run 2 rooms to be divided by your current rankings. The top half goes in one room and the bottom half goes in the other room. Scoring will be per room, not a combined of the two rooms, so no need to keep race times. This will give those who are not as fast of racers a chance to catch up with some of the top racers and give the top racers more of a challenge to stay there.
6. Pit stops are optional. If you can run with red tires and no fuel, then more power to you.
7. No races will be held on holiday weekends. Mothers Day and Fathers Day weekend is debatable. Races are scheduled now, but if it becomes a problem, then we will move the schedule back one week for each of them.

This race didn't disappoint!!! By the end of the race there were only 2 cars that were in any condition to compete (although the 2 drivers of those cars are in different racing ability classes) Even with Lockes car damaged slightly at the first few laps of the race, I couldn't keep up with him even with my 1 pit stop to his 2. There were several racers leaving smoke screens for us to navigate through. Wobbly Goblin was giving Locke a run for his money until about midway through the race he saw a pretty girl by the wall and went in for a closer look. Unfortunately, his car decided to scratch an itch against the wall. Locke finished the race in 29:33.891. Not bad considering a slightly damaged car and toying with me the last few laps. Silverfox's car took such great damage early on that his Crew Chief called him into the garage to retire early from the race. KrazyKop hung in there even though he was getting lapped by the 3rd or 4th lap. As many times as he hit the walls, I think he was trying to get off the track to park, but just couldn't find or "make" an exit. lol Good job Locke on both the 1st place podium and the fastest race lap points!
See you all next week!!

This weeks race was a small field with only 6 racers starting. Early in the race with Silverfox and Locke running a close race, Locke lost connection (crap!!!) But Fred stepped up to the plate and kept Silverfox honest. Being that htis is the only time I will be able to say it, that after todays race Greyfox60 is in 1st for the series!!!!!! Ok, enough salt in the wounds (Locke) Silverfox finished the race with both a 1st place finish and the fastest lap of 1:27.675 and a total race time of 38:10.771. Good job Silver!!!!
I think practice will be in order for next weeks race at Sunset Infield. I have a feeling there will be more than one smoking car (and I don't mean from speed) by the finish of this race. See ya all next week!!

Well week 3 had come and gone. Only a small field of drivers were able to make the trip to the far east for this exciting infield track at the famous Nissan speedway. At the drop of the flag the crowd came to its feet, as the drivers made it through the first turn, fred114's Ferrari had the advantage, relying on that Italian acceleration. But before the drivers had made it to the back stretch, Silverfox71's Audi barreled into the lead, claiming his familiar spot up front. Wobbly's Audi got off to a slower start and brought up third, as KrazyKop rounded out the field in the second Ferrari entry. And the battle of European power was on. The field stayed the same for sometime, as Silverfox built up a comfortable lead. The Ferrari team was left with no choice but to try a different pit strategy. As the tires of these great beast became worn, Team Audi called in Silverfox for a pit for a fresh set of Bridgestones. Team Ferrari told fred114 to stay out, much to his concern. Audi decided to hold Wobbly out as well. KrazyKop had made a pit earlier in the race to repair some minor damage from an early incident. The strategy gave the lead over to fred114 though for how long no one would no. Team Audi call Silverfox back in a few laps later for a quick splash of fuel, and fresh set of tires, now all teams were ready to finish the race out. Wobbly was slowly closing in on fred114 before he had to retire with electrical issues in his Audi. Now it was Silverfox's turn to put the pressure on fred114, who is famous for making stupid mistakes while leading. Krazykop continue to plow along, despite several mechanical issues plaguing his car all day. But alas, there were not quite enough laps left for Silverfox, and fred114 hung on for his first victory of the season. Silverfox finished a strong second, Krazykop got his best finish of the year in 3rd, with Wobbly awarded 4th.
Great jobs guys, see everyone next week.

This weeks setting was in beautiful Italy at the Mugello race circuit. This track has a little of every thing to offer, long straights, tight hairpins, elevation changes all surrounded by the Italian Alps. If you can't make it here for the racing, then you should really come for the food.
Five drivers started the qualifying, but after a fairly hard hit in turn 1, TreeTopFlyer was unable to continue with the racing as his car was beyond repair. Wobbly Goblin did not fair much better as his crew was still on California time. Someone forgot to tighten the bolts down the wing and by the time he exited turn 1, it was laying on the track. Well with his car undrivable, Wobbly was forced to pull off the track and painstakingly watch the remainder of the race, although from a very good seat. This left the race to three. Quite a good show this week. KrazyKop's crew is beginning to come into form, as he race his strongest race of the season on a track that is surprisingly tricky. Locke and Fred114 had a good battle for much of the race, both leading for periods of time in what was at one point a very close race. But in the closing laps Locke was really putting pressure on Fred114, apparently had enough running in second place. And true to form, Fred114 driving through the rear view mirror got his wheels off the track into a gravel pit. Locke went on to win his second race of the series. Fred114 took second and maintained the overall series lead for the second week in a row. Krazykop got his best finish of the season and now has moved up to fourth in the series standings. Wobbly was awarded fourth place, and stands fifth in the series very much in striking distance of this young season.
