Default Wireless Headset

I refuse to buy the POS wireless headset from M$. Has anyone ever had an experience with this one? What do you recommend?

Yep...I have that exact same headset, but my mic doesn't work anymore. Here's the deal. It works off an inferred signal, not blue tooth...so you must be in front of the base unit for it to work. The sound quality is excellent, but because you can't hear yourself speak, you end up shouting. My family was constantly telling me to lower my voice. Also, something about the background noise being amplified made it extremely difficult to use in game lobbies. That said, I would not purchase another one...

Thumbs up Re: Wireless Headset

On the plus side Tree, they work great for hearing someone that's trying to sneak up on you. Assuming the game has good sound that is. I used to love the advantage it gave me playing the snow map on Perfect Dark Zero...good stuff!

I hear those X2's are an amazing follow up to the model that came out last year or early this year. Fixing tons of problems that plagued the old one and adding cool features like seperate volume for the game and the gamers chat.

If that's true, I'd probably consider another pair. I've noticed the price has come way down...Mutiny paid over $100.00 for mine.

Same here, good quality only thing is that I wish would be the would have a mute option on the controller, because it is really to hard to unmute yourself when you are racing!!

I purchased the M$ wireless headset to use with my M$ Racing Wheel. It works perfectly, but I find it to be uncomfortable after a few hours of gaming...something about the way it hangs on my ear. That being the case, I prefer the standard M$ wired headset. It's comfortable, easy to mute and works great!
