Default 360 annoyance

The way the power goes on & off here during storms so much I am not surprised I have a little problem w/ my 360. Actually, I'm surprised it's taken this long to have a problem. A few days ago, during a downpour, my power went off then right back on while I was playing. Every since then whenever I change out a game disc my box logs me off and performs an update. This is with every game I've tried (so far) and everytime I do the change. I was wondering if clearing my cache might fix it. Here's my problem. Will it wipe all my DLC as well? Will I have to d/l everything over on my HD? Can I remove my HD and clear the internal cache? I have a memory module. I think I might try it w/ the module first. Anybody else seen this? What would you do?

I'm not sure about pulling the HD, but I've cleared my cache in the past and "yes" it wiped all my game updates. Not saved games, just the actual updates.

Hum...I don't remember, but M$ lets you re-download everything you've paid for as many times as you want...so it shouldn't be a problem.

Don't do an account recovery ... M$ still doesn't have their shit together. That's how I lost all my game saves a few months back.

I was pretty sure that's how it is but, I wanted to ask ppl 1st. Lord knows I don't want to be re-downloading all weekend.

Just an update for future use. Clearing my Xbox 360's cache fixed this problem. To clear your cache go to the system blade in the dashboard. Select memory. Highlight your hard drive. click "Y". Then click "x,x,left bumper, right bumper, x, x" A prompt will pop up and tell you you are about to perform maintenance on your hard drive & do you want to proceed. click yes. The only thing I've seen this do is make it so I have to download an update one time (verses everytime I changed games) before I play a game not played before the cache clearing procedure. It took me literally a few seconds to do. And the DLC and everything else remains on your HD.
