Default Race Driver: Grid

Well, I can't wait myself! The Toca Series has always been one of my favorite car racing series. It has the most tracks and the most cars and most importantly it had F1 cars!!! Hopefully it still will.

Checkit out here

I also went HERE to sign up for Beta testing at the Codemasters site. I would LOVE to be a beta tester for "Race Driver:Grid"!!!!

Damn, the more I read about it the more I wonder if it is one that will be on my "must have " list.

No Super V8 series or DTM series. According to a statement by the CEO the name change (it seems in the US it is now simply "Grid") was so they could take it in a new direction. As he put it, "more arcady" That would really suck. Plus in the Japanese series will include "drifting" races. Makes me wonder if they are going to add "kudos" to it. If that was what I wanted then I would go buy PGR4.

Right now there are only 2 possible saving graces to this game.

1) If they at least kept the F1 cars and races in it. That was probably one of the things I liked best about it.

2) If the "new and exciting" things that are supposed to "bring the racer more into the race" trully do so and is not just some useless gimmick (like in my opinion kudos in PGR)

Wouldn't it be great if they would take the best parts of the racer games and put them together in one great game?

Yes, but it will never happen. I mean why would they put it all in one game purchase when they could split it up and have us suckers buy 5 different games ?

It looks good, but it doesn't look like the Race Driver series I know and loved.

Yea, that is kind of what I was thinking. It seems like it will be nothing like the game that set it apart from others. It depends on what the "new and exciting" things that are now included are. Right now to me they haven;t even given enough information about what is going to be in the game to know whether it is something I will be interested in or not.

More info is Here

Still don't see any open wheel cars in any of the pics though. I sure miss the old Race Driver series!
