Thumbs up Re: New Home Internet is BLAZING!

As long as you're buying a new router, check out the "D-Link DGL 4300" gaming router. I've had mine for a couple of years...it's awesome!

I went to Home Depot instead of Best Buy and decided to cover the wire instead of going wireless. A penny saved is no way near what my wife can spend!

If you can, I would wire the whole house with CAT-5. Much better speeds that way.

Question Re: New Home Internet is BLAZING!

Hum, if your house is wired...what are you covering?

I wired my house several years ago. Everything is in the walls. Cat-5 jacks next to every phone jack...very nice!

I use my wireless connect for my laptop.

Well I put my computer is on a different wall and didn't want to wait for the guy to snake wires and make holes, so I ran the wire myself and covered it up. Might not have been the smartest move, but it was quick, cheap and reversible. Hmm, I am curious though what it would cost to get it done ... I'll have the wife stay home, I'm too busy.
