New computer ordered

Well, I looked around and the HP's at Costco gave me the most bang for the buck. After customization this is what I ordered:

HP Pavillion Elite d5000t
Intel Core 2 quad processor Q9550 (2.83GHz)
8GB DDR2-800MHz dual channel sdram
750GB 7200rpm sata 3Gb/s hard drive
512MB Nvidia GeForce 8500GT, tv-out, dvi-i, HDMI graphics card
Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme sound card
15-in-1 memory card reader, 2 usb, 1394, TV video ports on front
Blu-ray writer/HD DVD player & lightscribe SuperMulti DVD burner
802.11 a/b/g/n Wireless LAN card
ATSC-NTSC TV tuner with pvr, fm tuner, remote.
and a 22' LCD monitor with built in speakers

Few other specs, but I think it will handle Photo shop CS3 (once I get it) and Nero 8

The bad part is that the "estimated shippping date" isn't until June 5th. But I think I will be happier than a pig in shit when it gets here

I was going to go for a better graphics card, but it already came to $2,341 before tax so I had to draw the line somewhere.

8 Gigs of ram, wow, you are going to be set on ram for the rest of your life. That will run photoshop CS3 like a champion.

Well, I remeber the first computer I built. It had 8 MB of ram. Most at that time had 4 MB. lol. Then I got a HUGE hard drive. It was 120 MB. Most people had 40 MB. I remember asking a salesperson how much 40MB was. Their reply was "it is all the storage space you will ever need. lol hahahaha. I can't think of too many programs that would fit on that small of a hard drive now adays, let alone an operating system lol. Oh and I bought a BIG 17" monitor that cost me $800 and was a really good deal at the time. Then I bought a HP legal size flatbed scanner. That was $1200. It didn't print, didn't copy, didn't fax, just scanned. Plus it had a fussy card that you had to install on the motherboard to even work.

Yep, those were the days. I give 8GB of ram 5 years tops lol
