Default California Earthquake 7-29-08

My family and I have lived with earthquakes our entire lives. They're usually not a big deal, but from time-to-time one comes through that really gets your attention. Yesterday was one of those times.

You know what's funny is our local news had a shot of Judge Judy hauling ass towards the door. She was probably the first one out of the building.

Yes, but most people here know it's safer to stay inside during an earthquake. The problem with running outside is you can easily trip and fall during all the shaking, or worse yet...you can be hit by downed power lines and or falling debre...not smart! Judge Judy's safest place would have been under her desk.

I know when I was working in a machine shop I sure got the hell out of the building when I saw the support beams swaying back and forth and the forklift moving around! I was quite a ways from the epecenter too. I think it was a 7.1 in Olympia, WA and I was 18 miles south of Longview
