Re: Stock Competition Round 2
Yea, the over spending is no biggie to me at all. Nor is selling at the end of day and not being able to buy until early the next day. After all, you never know how long it takes for a trade to go through. You can check the stats to see though. Usually it is about 20 minutes but sometimes may take longer. But to me unless it is allowed by everyone, then I can't see selling everything when the market is going down for everyone and sitting on it until the market starts going back up. If it was ok then I probably would have sold all my stocks last Friday and would still be sitting on the cash.
As far as taking it serious though, I really don't, just want to make sure everyone plays by the same rules. To me having the same rules is what makes it a competition, whether it is just a game or not. But I guess next time we can start one person off with 15000 and everyone else with 10000 and see how interested the 10000 people stay. That is all I am saying. Yes, it is a game and no I will not lose any sleep over it. In a nutshell, if I am going to put the time into anything, then whether a game or not, I would like to see that everyone at least attempts to play by the rules. I know the overspending thing was to me just a glitch and I really don't care.
I can even see selling some of your stock and forgetting to buy more because of how long trades take and such every once in awhile.
I guess why I am even bothering posting about this is that I do enjoy the stock competition, even when I am losing. I just want to make sure that if we do it again, then the same rules apply to everyone is all. And I think part of that is being very clear on what the rules are. Like right now, yea spend your money and keep it in the market, but does anyone know how much you can sit on? $100?, $1000? $10? I know I don't.
