How about a simple poll for the BCS yes or no. Yes keep it, No go to a NCAA Football playoff.

BCS is the Bowl Championship Series in College Football to determine who goes to the national chapmionship game. Part of the rankings is by computers. I have no idea why College Football is holding out on not having a playoff system. Heck, even NASCAR now has a playoff system. I think we all know who would have won the national championship if their had been a playoff system, Georgia. The other team in the game would have been either USC or Oklahoma.

Thanks for the explanation Desto, I was scratching my head for a second there too. I think they should do playoff style as well. It would be easier for casual college football fans like myself to follow.

Opinions are after all, the jist of what the the polls really are. But really I think the three you listed wouldn't have made it through the quarterfinals in a playoff run. with the possible exception of USC. I would have my money on either Kansas or Missouri pulling down the title. Possible even for these two to have been in the final game. But that's what a playoff system give us. Who would have though the Steelers would have been in the Superbowl two years ago let alone win the whole thing. Playoffs for the NCAA! We need it!

BCS is pretty stupid. A team that loses 2 games shouldn't be able to win the Championship. Then again you have to look at a team like Hawaii that had to play lesser teams and had a perfect regular season. By NCAA shouldn't Hawaii have been in the final game?

Division 1, college football is the only level of football....PERIOD......to NOT have some sort of playoff system.

It's all about money. The bowl games pull in 10's of MILLIONS of dollars to the respective universities for appearing in a major bowl game.

There only used to be around 5 bowl games.

It's a fucked system, to say the least.........

Hmm, really? I really think Georgia would have really easy time in a tourney. LOOON, I think after a year we just had in college football, I think they really might consider it. The only 2 conferences that don't support it are PAC-10 & Big Ten. Humm, Big 10, Ohio State??? Ring any bells???

it's a sucky system that doesn't work but works in keeping the good schools good and the bad schools bad and for that reason it wont change.
