Stock Competition

Would anyone be interested if I started a virtual stock competition for people on this forum/xbox live? Another forum that I have been attending for about 14 or so years just started one up and it turned out to be pretty fun. It's a good way to learn about the stock market for free too .

Let me know, if we get 5 or so people I'll start a group for us to join. Here is the website if anyone wants to check it out ahead of time.

yep, okay at least I'm not crazy. Sure I would be up for something like that. Could build some experience for a day when I actually have money to play with.

Nice. So I guess we could start next Monday and play for 30 days to see how everyone did. On Friday or Saturday I'll post joining instructions so check back here in a few days. It's still open for more people, the more the better.

Okay, I set up the game.

1. Start date: 11/12/2007... Ends 12/12/2007. Deadline for entry: none... you can add after the game starts now. (In case others miss this thread)
2. Only valid NYSE and NASDAQ stocks.
3. No penny stocks (Buy value must be > $5).
4. Stocks can be, mutual funds, money market, blue chip securities. No options or margin calls.
5. You can elect to go long (buy and hold) or sell short (hope it goes down in price).
6. Your account starts with $10,000. You must buy/sell (or combination)
7. No trailing/stop/limit orders. Just simple buy/sell calls.
