I'm one pissed gamer! - WARNING - Use of Foul Language

Man if its not one thing its another! FUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!!!! I just realized that what ever I did to transfer my gamertag to this new 360 caused me to lose every single game save that was on my 20gb hard drive. EVERYTHING!!!!!! Here is a list of wonderful games that I have never finished and now probably never will because who wants to go through all that shit again!

Oblivion - one could never finish this game, but damn to start over from the beginning!!!!!!!! NAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Perfect Dark - I was a good 80% with this one too.
G.R.A.W. 2 - good game, had hoped to finish it one day ... probably won't happen now
Burnout - So many high scores, so close to unlocking everything!
Forza 2 - not only is my career gone, but I lost all that art that I spent HOURS and HOURS creating!
CRACKDOWN - I had one boss left!!!!!!!!!!!!
PGR 3 - I HAD ALL THE CARS!!!!!!!!!!!!
PGR 4 - racing games are so tough to deal with when you lose your data!
Guitar Hero 3 - had to start over, no biggie
Madden 08 - Season ... gone
Need for Speed Carbon - again, so long huge library of awesome custom cars!
Halo 3 - I really don't want to go through all the shit in this one again.
BIOSHOCK - was also super close to finishing
Call of Duty 4 - not a huge loss, I hear its short
Rainbow Six Vegas - nope, never beat it
Splinter Cell Double Agent - again so close to finishing
Gears of War - yep you guessed it, so close again

Fuck I'm so pissed off! I would have been a little more prepared for this outcome if I bought a 360 with a new hard drive, but I didn't I slapped my old HD onto the new core system. Shit like this shouldn't happen.

DAMN YOU MOTHER FUCKERS WHO DIDN'T DESIGN ANY FAILSAFES IN THIS SHIT ASS HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hang on, if you just slapped your old HDD into your new xbox, then you shouldn't have had to recover your account again, because all the data would still be on there. We have three 360's here at the house and we interchange the HDD all the time. Sorry to bring the bad news!

Sorry to hear that Green Guy, but Desto is right. I'm not sure what you did, but I've had a crap load of 360's, same hard drive...never had a problem.

Your right I shouldn't have had to recover my gamertag. Initially I didn't, when I bought my 360 I slapped my HD and played it for a couple of days. MS did an update in the beginning of November though that screwed something up and I was no longer able to connect to the xbox live service, it was almost like a silver account. You remember that day Desto, I called support for help. I still can't imagen what happened to lose all my game saves. I didn't think recovering a gamertag would vitrually format my HD. I also cleared my cache during that process, which I don't think would do it either ... but it happened and now am at a loss for words.

So, just out of curiosity, does forza allow you to save to a memory unit or does it save to the hard drive only? I would expect them to have to have the Memory unit available because the xbox is available without the hard drive but the MS way would be to disable the mem unit to force people to buy the HD.

One of the fears I have of the xbox360 is MS strongarm marketing stratagies

The memory unit works in exactly the same way as the hard drive. Therefore it works with every game, but unfortunately even the big one (500KB) is too small to save all the games that Green Guy mentioned. That said, a hard drive is kind of a must have. Especially when you consider all the download-able content that games like Forza sucker you into purchasing.

Well, the reason why all your saves were wiped out was because you recovered you account, and when you do that, that wipes everything out for your game profile. I think maybe if you had just waited GG, everything would have straightened out, because I think we were all having problems with LIVE for a few days. That really does suck though! :/

Yep it sucks. Im kinda over it now. My biggest loss though was definately all hours i put into Forza 2. There is just too much lost for me to ever attempt to regain.
