Question Copyright Claim?

Check this out. I made this video with Munkee & Evenstar in 06. Apparently the audio from "Supertramp's Breakfast in America" album belongs to "UMG"...whoever the hell that is. How do I know, because I just received the following email from YouTube telling me so.

Quote:

If you believe that this claim was made in error, or that you are otherwise authorized to use the content at issue, you can dispute this claim with UMG and view other options in the Video ID Matches section of your YouTube account. Question Re: Copyright Claim?

I don't know, but what's the point of contacting me? What to I care if they advertise on the page...I usually embed the video anyway.

UMG is Universal Music Group, and they control a lot of music copyrights. Since you used their music, they can track stats on the video and whatnot. If it gets too many view and they think folks are pirating the music from it, they can have youtube pull the video.

Ahh...gotcha! Well, not much chance of that. I uploaded the video on 11-22-06 and it's only been viewed 203 times.

Thanks Daniel.
