Call of Duty 4 Demo

Holy crap! This game is going to be sooooooo goooooooooooood! Download the demo and see for yourself. With a decent graphics card and processor this game is amazing looking. Super immersive audio and visuals combined with cool weapons and combat tactics. Yeah its a shooter, we've played em before, but its a modern day call of duty shooter and its awesome!

Also, another good game I was watching somebody play today is Portal. It is part of the Orange Box, but you can get it off of Valve's website.

Yeah I've heard lots of good things about portal too. I think I'll wait and get orange box for my birthday. I have a bad habit of buying everything when it comes out then I don't need anything for my b-day or x-mas!

Ok, I am a real idiot when it comes to PC games. I had one years ago, Star Wars Rogue Squadron, and I used a joy stick. I do not remember having any problems getting the joy stick to work. Now, i downloaded the CoD4 demo just to fool around with. Now I could not get a controller to work. The only option I could find was the keyboard. I have tried a couple of inexpensive games lately, and none could I get the controller to work. One was even a "Games for Windows" title, though an older one. I have that little device to is supposed to allow you to use the Xbox 360 controller on your computer. Can someone guide me. I would like to try some PC games, for days like today, when I am sick as a dog, and staying in bed.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well Fred. I've never used that nifty little device, but the mouse/keyboard has always been faster then the controller anyway.

The controller must be recognized before starting the game. Activate your device, go to control panel joysticks, make sure it says 360 controller then try to launch your games. I use the USB 360 controller that came with my original core 360 to play all kinds of games on my PC, I actually haven't found a game it hasn't worked with.

Thanks guys, will have to try the control panel thing. I am sure the mouse keyboard thing is faster, but I really don't care to learn how to use all those crazy keystrokes. Just want to aim and fire.
