Spore is a multi-genre "massively single-player online game" under development by Maxis and designed by Will Wright. It allows a player to control the evolution of a species from its beginnings as a unicellular organism, through development as an intelligent and social land-walking creature, to levels of interstellar exploration as a spacefaring culture. It has drawn wide attention for its massive scope, and its use of open-ended gameplay and procedural generation.
The full version of the game is due to be released on September 5, 2008 in Europe[4], and September 7, 2008 in North America and other territories.[5] Spore will also be available for direct download from Electronic Arts on September 7.[8]

EA released their creature creation (top link) yesterday. Basically when the game goes live it will take those creatures people made and populate the world. The Second link is Robin Williams creating a creature while he was at E3 2 years ago, it's hilarious. Lastly, the third link is just some more information about the game.

I've been playing with it nonstop the past day. Just waiting for the full version download to go up on the EA store. They released the flippin trial yesterday, but not he full version until today. Stupid crap. :P

John and I actually came up with the "Spore challenge". One design criteria, we each make a critter. Decide whose is cooler. This one was "creature with antennas". I'm still awaiting his entry on the matter.

And he has claws, damnit! And can bite!
