Default PGR4

Its good! I like it a bunch! The weather is reminiscent of the first time I played the wet stage on Gran Turismo 3, why has it taken so long to get back physics technology from the PS2 years! Everyone has been so wrapped up with graphics that they forgot about something as simple as day/night and sun/rain/snow. We've had these options in our racing games going back to the 8-bit and 16-bit games, yet when they design franchises lately they keep it simple with sunny skies and dry roads. Granted that sounds like perfect driving conditions, but the challenge/pay-off from weather and time changes is awesome!

Forget what you thought about PGR3, this game is something more. It feels more like the classic franchise than "3" did. Its the same classic game mechanics (super refined over the years) with awesome tracks, weather and tons o'vehicles. Sure its got bikes, its got low rider trucks too, but as gimmicky as it may seem, they work and are well balanced.

I know over the years PGR has lost some fans, but those of you that are even slightly interested in a new PGR game do not want to miss out on this one. Its goooooood!

The single player mode is something that every game can learn from. Its hard to explain because every game has you trying to level up and ultimately reach rank #1, but this game does it with such presentation you feel like you are really moving up the ladder against your computer opponents. They say its takes a couple of calendar years to reach the top of the list of ranked drivers. I can see that now since if you don't score as high as you wanted to, or you lost in a particular challenge to unlock a particular car then you have to wait until the next calendar year to do it again. I think it works well, it pushes you to do your best, but ultimately even if you don't finish first in every race (ala Nascar or any other real racing leagues) you still move up the ladder based on your performance. I'm currently ranked 58th and I feel pretty good about that. I've finished most races in 1st, but at least 33% in second or worse. Anyway, I'm having fun with the game. The graphics and gameplay are very good and I look forward to unlocking Nurburgring snow course!

also ... as you progress you can buy packs of cars with your kudos which is way cheaper than buying them individually, but you can buy them one at a time as well in between races.

Wow, that sounds great. Wish I would burn out on Forza, it really takes a lot of my gaming time trying to get ready for the next race. I have Halo3 still in plastic along with Heavenly Sword for PS3. Really want to play these, but the 2 racing series are taking up my time...lol

Add me to the list of PGR4 players... I haven't played it much because of the baby, that and the fact that I still have to finish CoD4, Assassin's Creed, etc.

I didn't buy it. I did play the demo for the 360 though and I wasn't that impressed. Is the actual game better than the demo was?
