Well, I have had the game for a couple of days now. Never played any of the previous one so the story is new to me. Gotta admit, was ready to return the game before it ever started. First, it had to download on to the PS. Even directly from the disc, this took like 16 minutes. Then it starts in a cut scene, like most games, but this last and lasts. Plus there are like 2 other scenes, before the game begins. I was so tired of waiting, I stop the game, and played something else. Well, decided to give it another try. So far, I really like it. Graphics are super!! Story seems to be unfolding nicely. Really want to see what happens to Snake, and what has caused his accelerated aging. I think the aiming is a little slow and iffy. The game allows you to switch from 3rd person to 1st person while shooting, but as soon as you try to move you are back to 3rd person. Now I like some games in third, and this is one. You can look around corners much better than any 1st person game. The game is hard, because it is all about stealth. Sneaking around behind the enemy with out engaging them. This is hard, I see an enemy, I want to kill them. But I am not deep in the game yet. Again, the cut scenes between check points in the game are extremely long. And though you can skip them, I am always afraid I will miss some vital clues. Besides, as I get more entrenched in the story, I will want to watch all the cut scenes.
This game does not support trophies.

If you have not tried this, I would recommend it based on the little that I have played.

Ive played all of the previous metalgear games to include the first one on Nintendo. It's always been a great series.

It's the only game that I would love to play on the PS3. But I don't have one.
