It would defiantly improve my game, but neither would I. I'll be happy if I can just find one similar to the 360.

i modded a ps2 controller for socom 2. that was a tough process but it wasn't even close to that complicated. i have faith you can succeed

Well, I got started on this mod today...sure hope I'm able to actually make it work! So far I've removed (de-soldered) the parts needed from the 360 controller and removed both joysticks from the PS3 controller. Then I added a 1/16" spacer under the right side joystick and soldered it back in place. That alone was pretty involved. Luckily MOLARRRSPUD loaned me one of those magnifying visors that jewelers wear, so I'm able to see all the tiny things I'm working on. Tomorrow I hope to get the new circuit boards cut and installed, but that's about as far as I'll be able to go until the parts I ordered arrive...sometime next week.

Oooh nice touch using the black 360 controller. Good luck, it looks like a fun project. Reminds me of the time I added a backlight to my gameboy advance several years ago.

Thanks! I'm thinking the black controller will look pretty good with the Red LED's I ordered to indicate (controller 1,2,3,4) around the PS button.
