In my honest opinion, PS3 is a Blu-Ray Player first, then a game console. The 360 is a hardcore gamer's machine, and the Wii is the family gaming machine.
The reason that the PS3 is the cheapest Blu-Ray player around, period. As much as Sony says that it is a gaming console, it isn't. It never will be. Now, what it will do is have more people playing games because it is the cheapest Blu-Ray player. Also, the PS3 has much more power than the 360, but that isn't the problem. The problem is that it takes 2-3 years for the developers to program for it. That is one of the biggest problems with the PS3, always has been. The other is a match to the LIVE service. They have the same idea as the LIVE service, but have yet to find a good way to implement it. Also, as of right now, their service is still free. They are already losing money with every PS3 they make, so I am surprised that they are not charging for the online services. Also, they don't have near as many people on their service as LIVE does. We all just saw how LIVE got killed in January, and their service charges because of how much servers they have to keep up. The PS3 will be tested in the months to come.
The 360. We love you so but why must you show us your hatred for you with your red rings of death? I know almost all of us here has said something like that, and even some of us six times (Wobbly)! Anyways, the 360 major, biggest, sh&#tist, worst problem is the hardware. Always has been, and it seems like always will be. The games are there. The LIVE service is there. And, it where we all met each other. Where we all did Real Lappers and Dirty Lappers together. Where we always played City Streets Large, and where we always ran each other over. It's our home! But the problems that have plagued the 360 have made us run away from home! Right now, M$ is behind the 8 ball, not really knowing what to do. They better figure out soon though, or they are going to lose a lot of gamers, but I don't really know where yet, or maybe it is........
The Wii! If you haven't ever had he chance to play this thing, then you need to! It's awesome!!! But, it is for casual game playing. There are some pretty good games for it, but nothing hardcore like the PS3 or the 360 is offering. It's also a party game system. But it is awesome!
