Default Want to buy PS3 good/bad

I am wanting to get a ps3 for some of the racing games out and ones to come out. I just was wondering how the online play was, because I drop playing the playstation because of the online xbox has. Couple guys told me that the F1 game was fun to play as long as u joined a chat on the 360 so you could talk umm... also with gt5 coming out I wanting to figure out what system I should get. I don't to much care about backwards compatiblity but I still am wondering which way to go.

I really like my PS3 Locke. I've played a numbers of games, all of which run extremely well, but don't go into it expecting to have the same capabilities that you're currently enjoying on your Xbox 360, as there is truly no comparison right now. In fact, features like friends requests and game invites aren't even up to the old xbox's standards yet. That's all supposed to change once Sony releases "Home", but for now the interface is pretty basic.

Wait until Gran Turismo 5 prologue comes out. They may even have a PS3 bundle for it. Its a great system that has legs. It will be around for a long time and any gamer who can afford it should have it.

I've grown to like it a lot. I use it all the time to watch anime and movies that I transfered to the hard drive. The Blu-ray player is so far ahead in technology that DVD's look grainy to me know. Games like Drake's Fortune, Rachet & Clank, MotorStorm and Warhawk are all must play/must own titles. I love my dual shock 3, once they start bundling those with the systems is when you should buy one. I think by April they will have Dual Shock 3 controllers in the system packaging. If you have a PSP you can download demo's and games from the PS3 to the PSP. Also you can sync your PSP to your PS3 and enjoy its content anywhere there is a wi-fi signal. That includes playing downloaded PS1 games on your PSP via your PS3 (it all makes sense when you see it).

I heard they are going to come out with a 120g setup later in the year. I am wondering if I should wait for that or snag a left over 80 g system.

I wouldn't wait & here's why. One of the really cool features about the PS3 is it doesn't use preparatory hardware, so you can purchase a huge laptop hard drive later if need be. In fact, NewEgg.com has a 250GB Wester Digital for $129.00. Installation is a snap!

You'll be amazed at how well the PS3 recognizes new hardware (like a USB mouse, keyboard and or external hard drive)...works great! It also has ports for all the current flash media. On top of that, the new COD4 maps will probably be free too!
