Re: Sony seems to have done a few things right
I agree with Green Guy, at least to the point that the PS3 will make in roads on the Xbox 360. The technology is definitely there, just missing the games. Read today where Sony has cut their development fees in half, to encourage the game developers. So I can see a speed up in game development. But I would figure that some of the delays, is just getting to know the newer technology available to game developers. Sony "Home" shows some promise, but I still see it as the younger generation attraction, not something I see myself using extensively.
But I had my first PS3 lock up yesterday, playing Heavenly Sword, so there is some imperfection. This is actually my second PS3, the first one I bought shutdown every 10 minutes, a hardware flaw, or simple overheating. Also, I think Sony is doing former PS2 fans a disfavor with their 40 GB system, not being able to play the PS2 games. Maybe they will offer something to over come that.
Now as far as Photofinishron calling the Xbox scene dead, not hardly, as long as games such as Halo3 and COD4 along with the many others released each month keep flowing. Xbox live now, is such a better global network than Sony's, and I will gladly pay my $50.00 a year to keep it. Though Sony's online network is free now, and Home will be offered free, there will be fees associated with Home. The amount of servers required to run a global system will cost way too much for Sony to absorb themselves. If you think Microsoft is money hungry, Sony will match them step to step to the bank.
I love both systems, and my Wii as well.
