What should I do?
Okay as many of you know my 360 is near death. No red rings so I can't send it back yet. Here's my dilemma, I'm a multi-system owner. I have a PS3, Wii, 360 and others. Do I take my semi-working 360 to GameStop/EB for the trade in value of $140 or less, then pay the difference for the cheapest 360 available (360 Arcade= $279) or do I just give up? Do I trade all my sh!t in and not have to worry about faulty systems anymore. I can have a pretty decent gaming experience with my PS3 and Wii. I can get COD4 and Mario Galaxy respectively and enjoy what I got. The only reason why I can really think of keeping my 360 is the invested games I have, the friends over xbox live and one game on the horizon ... Mass Effect. My problem is, I don't really have the money to buy a new 360. The holidays are approaching fast and I have a court fee's to pay of over $300 by Christmas oddly enough.
I don't know what to do ...

Re: What should I do?
Does any one have any of the new 360's and are they any better than the old ones?

Re: What should I do?
The one at that price point($279) is the Arcade Sku and it does have HDMI port. I think I'll box up my 360 and take it to game stop tomorrow. Hopefully I get a new 360 with the newer motherboard configuration. I read a bunch about it on the xbox.com forums ...

Re: What should I do?
One thing is for sure. I'm not going to buy another 360 if my next one fails. I have no problem spending money on quality games, but I refuse to spend money on inferior systems.

Re: What should I do?
The copper heat pipe is pretty visible from the side of the unit. I would say take a peek at that to see what ya got. My new 360 is amazing cooler than the older one. I can play for hours and put my hand on top of the system and it feels cool. My old box would get hot (even the disks would be hot when I took them out) after a much shorter gaming session. Its still the damn nosiest system I've ever owned though. I can't wait until the PS3 hits its stride because it is definitely a better engineered, longer lasting piece of architecture.

true that. sony may be losing money on ever ps3 sold but they have been non-faulty generally so far

Re: What should I do?
Honestly! A truer statement has never been told! M$ is losing more money on their faulty units than Sony is on current production costs. Plus Sony is still profiting from PS2 and PSP sales, much like how Nintendo is making profit from the DS.

Re: What should I do?
But.......despite the Xbox360's many faults, it still currently reigns king. The dashboard is soooooooo much easier to navigate than the X bar thingy the PS3 has. The online community is much better, from hooking up with friends, to staying connected. I know Xbox has connection problems from time to time, but that is probably as much testament to the load placed on the servers by the amount of gamers. They were brillant coming up with the achievement system. I am no achievement whore, but I still like getting em. Sure, the Xbox360 should have been designed better from the get go, but I still love that I got it.
That being said, I love my PS3 as well. And it does show so much potential. Quiet yes. Runs hot. Hopefully there won't be any issues. I know my first one had issues with overheating. The system is still quite young. So far it seems $ony has taken some good steps to encourage more game development by reducing the cost for game developers And $ony is developing Home. But how that turns out remains to be seen.
All I am really saying, is I love both systems. I hope M$ and $ony both continue to develop and produce better systems.
